Morten Funder
Photo & Ceramics
Morten Funder has been working with photo art in his own very special way since 2007. He creates a visual universe of dreams and moods based on his own photos from nature, but digitally processed into imaginative worlds. His works often consist of over 50 photographic layers, each processed to achieve the finished expression. He says about his photo art that it can be seen as metaphysical forms of beauty over universes that evolution has not yet produced.
A slightly different type of photo art is his so-called Photographic Traces. Here, the subject is composed at the moment the individual photo is taken. He may have subsequently adjusted light and shadow, or he may have used a few graphic filters to highlight the subject.
Morten integrated his ceramics into his field of activity in 2017, and he often exhibits his ceramic sculptures together with his photographic works. He refines his clay technique through experiments towards new expressions, and he strives to achieve harmony between the ceramic and photographic idioms.
