Sustainability & Green Key at Anneberg

Welcome to the Guesthouse at Anneberg – the house is yellow but we work green and we welcome guests with consideration for both people, the setting and nature.

Sustainability is not an option for us, but an integral part of our DNA. We run the Guesthouse with respect for the history of the place and the special conditions that a conservation-worthy environment such as Anneberg Cultural Park provides. It is challenging – and that is exactly what we thrive on.

We fundamentally believe that sustainability makes sense in everyday life. Not as deprivation, but as conscious choices that create peace, quality and a good experience for our guests. That's why you can enjoy your stay with us with a clear conscience – in beautiful surroundings, where green choices and hospitality go hand in hand.

The house is yellow - but we think green

How we work with sustainability in Anneberg Cultural Park

At Anneberg Kulturpark, sustainability is not a project, but a way of running a place. Our choices stem from respect for history, for the surroundings and for the people who live, work and visit the place.

We use water-saving solutions on faucets, showers and toilets because water is a valuable resource, and because small adjustments in everyday life make a big difference over time – without compromising the comfort of our guests.

We have consciously chosen to preserve and use the beautiful, historic buildings rather than demolish and build new ones. The buildings contain stories, architecture and atmosphere that cannot be recreated. Taking care of them is both a cultural and sustainable choice, reducing resource consumption and preserving the soul of the place.

When we serve water in glass bottles instead of plastic, it is to reduce single-use consumption and waste. The same applies to our waste sorting into at least ten fractions – because correct sorting makes it possible to recycle as much as possible and reduce waste.

We work hard to avoid food waste because good food deserves respect. It's about both consideration for resources and quality in the kitchen. That's why we also place great emphasis on using local produce, carefully caught fish and organic ingredients where it makes sense. It supports local producers, reduces transportation and provides a more honest dining experience.

We avoid products packaged in unnecessary disposable packaging because waste is best prevented before it occurs. And we make sure not to use unnecessary energy to heat empty rooms and premises – because responsible energy use is a natural part of taking care of both the environment and the place.

All in all, our approach is about making conscious choices that make sense in everyday life – and that make it possible to run a historic place like Anneberg with an eye to both the past, present and future.

As a guest at the Guesthouse, you can easily support our green efforts.

When you as a guest choose to use your towel several times and leave the bed linens lying around during your stay, you help reduce water consumption, energy and washing - without compromising your experience.

If you stay here for several days and opt out of daily cleaning, you help save electricity, water and cleaning agents. This allows us to use resources where they make the most sense.

When you sort your waste in the containers set up in the hallways, you help ensure that materials can be recycled as best as possible and that the amount of waste is reduced.

Your choices, big or small, make a real difference and help us take care of the Guesthouse, the surroundings and the resources – both now and in the future.

Thank you for helping to take care of the Guesthouse and the surroundings around us.
