Joan Berg's passion is to create sensual textile experiences. She is fascinated by the simple and timeless and the meeting between traditional techniques and innovation, which can bring her material into new contexts on multiple levels.
She uses nature as her great source of inspiration and collaboration partner. She creatively transfers all the impressions she gets here into her nuno-felted scarves and shawls, which have surprising color combinations and details with a touch of something wild, raw and delicate.
Joan works with quality materials such as merino wool, silk, silk chiffon and soft cotton gauze. This makes each scarf and shawl very comfortable, luxurious and lovely to wear, and completely unique.
Eco-printing is another of her exciting areas of work. Here too, she uses nature and its diversity when creating her panels/room installations for home decor.
Background
Joan Berg is a trained filter, tailor, educator and color-style consultant and has always worked with colors, shapes, textiles and various materials. She has always been curious, investigative and interested in testing existing and new ways of expressing herself with her materials. Always keeping in mind that shape, color and expression should be in harmony.
