Jens Lauridsen

Photographer

Jens Lauridsen is a photographer and visual artist with a background in the performing arts. He is educated

with an HND in Performing Arts from Stratford-upon-Avon College (1997) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Acting from The Acting Company (1998). He is also a member of the Danish Actors' Association (DSF).

Photography has followed Jens throughout his life. Today he works to capture the theatre of life – the small and the

great moments where reality meets staging, and where the person and the light form the image's narrative.

His work revolves around the sensual and honest expression, where the presence between motif and material is central. A main focus of Jens' artistic practice is the noble photographic processes, especially the Platinum/Palladium print. Here he explores the texture of the paper, the tonality of the material and the role of craftsmanship in the final expression. Each print becomes a unique work – a meeting between precision and experiment, where the process is as important as the result.

Jens constantly seeks to challenge the print form and investigates how format, structure and light

affects the experience of an image. For him, photography is not just about reproducing, but about investigating and interpreting – creating a visual space where light itself is allowed to play the leading role.

He is an active artist in the Kunstnerfløjen and regularly shares his works and experiments on Instagram.

under the name @fladsbjerg.
